The Galveston College Presidential Search Committee announced that Galveston College will launch a series of three public forums on Dec. 3, 2025 to gather input from the community for the development of a presidential profile as part of its presidential search process.

The GC Presidential Search will be marked by confidentiality for applicants with transparency of the entire process, and broad-based input and involvement of internal and external stakeholders who care about the future of GC.

The search committee invites the community to attend any and all of the forums in-person or virtually using the following link here.

The forums are open to all college faculty, staff, students and members of the community. All forums will be held in the Seibel Wing at the college’s main campus, located at 4015 Ave. Q in Galveston.

The three one-hour public forums on Dec. 3 will be held at 12:30 p.m., 2 and 3:30 p.m.

In addition, whether the public attends in-person or virtually, a survey will be available to anonymously provide feedback regarding the college’s needs in a future president.

The link for the survey will open on at 8 a.m. on Dec. 2, and will close at noon on Dec. 4. The survey is available at the following link https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/VHZLFBF, or use the following QR code.

The main themes from survey comments will be summarized in a draft profile which the GC Presidential Search Committee and Board of Regents will finalize.

All final candidates will participate in open forums at Galveston College and the finalists will interview with the Board of Regents. The search committee anticipates the open forums will take place in mid-April 2026. Dates, times and location will be announced once confirmed. All GC faculty, staff, students and community members will be invited to attend the open forums and complete feedback forms which will be reviewed as part of the deliberation process.

In October, the GC Board of Regents selected the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) to assist with the nationwide presidential search process. ACCT specializes in one-to-one recruitment of college leaders. Recruitment efforts will involve an open and thorough national search, seeking qualified candidates from all regions of the country. Additionally, to assist with this process, advertisements will be placed in the “Chronicle of Higher Education” and other major publications and websites.

The GC website will include information on all aspects of the search. The Presidential Search webpage is in the process of being developed and will include key information, including the timeline, Presidential Profile and information on how to apply.
