Galveston College TRIO Upward Bound program students volunteered Oct. 17, 2026 at the Galveston Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Stewart Beach, supporting a community effort to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
Despite cold and windy conditions, the students contributed their time to help support the event and its mission.
Organized by the Alzheimer’s Association, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s brings together individuals, families and community organizations to support those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. According to the Alzheimer’s Association, over 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s.
