Galveston College celebrated the college’s Law Enforcement Academy (LEA) Cadet Class #16(D) during a graduation ceremony on May 27, 2026, at the Seibel Wing.
Nineteen cadets were recognized and received their certificates during the ceremony in front of their family and friends, and the law enforcement community.
 
GC Vice President of Instruction, Cissy Matthews, Ed.D., welcomed the graduates, family and community members to the ceremony, and presented the certificates to the cadets.
 
Assistant Chief of the Galveston Police Department, Andre Mitchell, was the guest speaker for the ceremony and provided words of wisdom and encouragement to the cadets as they embarked on their new career to protect and serve the community.
 
The LEA Cadet Class #16(D) graduates are: Thomas Bass, Erik Cruz-Vega, Shamya Edwards, Diego Garcia, Jackson Graves, Rodell Jones, Austin Malone, Kendra Ponce, Jonathan Robinson, Radia Said, Alexandria Simons, Ethan Smith, Tate Smith, Tanner Stefanick, Kenneth Tovar, Ethan Tran, Caleb Williams, Jamir Williams and Tiauna Young.
