TG Charley Wootan Grant Recipients
Last year, Galveston College was awarded $100,000 from the TG Charley Wootan Grant Program to fund sixteen two-year scholarships for Galveston College students.
Pictured are GC students who are recipients of that same grant, which is being used for the Male Success Initiative at GC. Students selected for this grant program participate in student advising, tutoring, and financial literacy education.
The TG Charley Wootan Grant program compliments Galveston College’s efforts to support the success and retention of all students. By providing a mechanism for scholarship that is in addition to institutional support and can be transferred to other institutions, Galveston College will leverage the scholarship program to identify and recruit eligible student leaders to participate in the Male Success Initiative.
Leading the project is Director, Ron Crumedy, Acting Vice President of Student Services at Galveston Colleg; and Co-Director, Dr. Kimberly Ellis, Coordinator of Student Activities at Galveston College.
