The Galveston College Office of Special Services strives to coordinate services that will enable students with special needs to act as independently as possible in a supportive atmosphere that promotes educational success. A variety of programs, services and related activities are designed to provide educational support to students who self-identify as having a disability.

The Special Services staff works with faculty, administrators and students toward the goal of complying with state and federal regulations while integrating the student with special needs into the college community. Galveston College Office of Special Services provides students with assistance and information in meeting the requirements of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1972 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.

Additional information is available through the Office of Special Services located in the Counseling Center.

It is the policy of Galveston College not to discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, gender, disability, age, veteran status, ethnicity or national origin.
