Player Bios

#1  Heather Wilson
Heather graduated in 2011 from Garland High School with Academic Honors.  Heather was voted Defensive Player of the Year, four consecutive years and is a three time First Team All-District selectee.  She helped lead her team to the State Championship in 2008.  Heather was nominated District MVP in 2011.  Her goal for the season is to win conference and make the National Tournament.  Heather is the daughter of Staci and James Syferd, and Jim Wilson.  She has four sisters: Whitney, Haley, Hanna and Ashley.

#2  Lacy Freeze

Lacy Freeze is a product of Splendora High School where she received First Team All-District honors her junior and senior years.  She plans on pursuing a degree towards Special Education and her goal for the year is to pass all of her classes and improve her softball skills.  She is supported by her parents Frankie and Missy Freeze and siblings Kacy and Jacy Freeze.

#3 Kacy Freeze

Kacy Freeze is a product of Splendora High School where she received the All-Montgomery County Pitcher of the Year award during the years of 2009-2012.  She also received Newcomer of the Year in 2009 and First Team All-District Pitcher of the Year in 2010.  During her junior year, she was honored with First Team All-District Player of the Year and during her senior year of play she rceived All-District MVP.  Kacy is currently working to pursue a degree in Kinesiology.  Her goals are to throw a no hitter and lead her team to the NJCAA National Tournament.  She is supported by her parents Frankie and Missy Freeze and by her siblings Lacy and Jacy Freeze.

#4  Alexis Dunn
Alexis graduated from Round Rock High School in Round Rock, TX.  In 2011, she twice earned First Team All-District. She received Best Offensive Player honors in her sophomore and junior years. Alexis was voted MVP and earned All-District honors in her senior year.  Alexis' goal for this season is to become a better player and student.  A Biology major, and she is the daughter of Jessica Ortiz and has a younger brother named Jaylen Williams. 

#5  Jackie Baimbridge

Jackie Baimbridge is a product of Magnolia High School and comes to Galveston College as a National Fastpitch Association Second Team All-Region player.  She also received First Team All-District, First Team Academic All-District, and the Magnolia Golden Glove Outfielder award her senior year of high school.  Jackie is looking to pursue her education towards a business degree.  Her goals are to help her team reach its full potential and to make herself a better athlete.  She is supported by Derrick and Belinds Scronce and siblings Trey Baimbridge and Courtney Scornce. 

#6  Leigha Doyle
Leigha graduated in 2011 from Atascosita High School in Humble, TX.  She earned Academic Honor Roll and Defensive Player of the Year two consecutive years.  Leigha was an All-District Team 19-5A selectee in her junior and senior years.  Her goal for this season is to work hard, strive to give her best at all times and help the team win a Regional and National championship. Leigha is a Kinesiology major, and the daughter of Stacy and Stan Holland.

#7  Matti Aycock

Matti Aycock was a four year varsity letterman at Robert E. Lee High School.  She was a First Team All-District player her sophomore year and Second Team All-District her senior year of play.  She led her team to their first playoff win ever in school history.  She comes to Galveston College in pursuit of becoming and orthodontist assistant.  Her goals for the year are to keep a steady GPA and help the team become successful.  She is supported by her parents Matt and Candee Aycock and siblings Makenna Aycock and Caleb Gilley.

#8  Ally Johnson

Ally Johnson is a TXSWA All-State softball product from Foy H. Moody High School.  She received the Newcomer of the Year award as a freshman in 2009.  Also, during the years 2009-2012 she was a First Team All-South Texas and First Team All-District player.  Ally is in pursuit of a nursing degree at Galveston College and her goals are to help the team excel and win.  She is supported by her mother Laura Flores and siblings Brittany Johnson and Jaco Flores.

#9  Cally Newsome 

Cally Newsome is a softball standout from West Columbia High School.  During her career at West Columbia she was a 2012 TSWA All-State player, 2012 All-Brazoria County Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-District Centerfielder.  Cally will be pursuing a degree towards General Studies at Galveston College and her goal for the year is to be successful on and off the field.  She is supported by her parents Tommy and Ginger Newsome and siblings Colby and Cami Newsome. 

#10  Victoria Sorrell
Victoria graduated from Spotsylvania High School in Spotsylvania, VA in 2011.  She earned First Team All-District, First Team All-Region, Second Team All-State, and was voted Virginia High School Coaches Association All Star.  Victoria's goal this season is to help the Whitecaps win the National Championship.  A Kinesiology major, she is the daughter of Vincent and Kim Sorrell. Victoria has three siblings: Lauren, Caroline, and Tucker.

 #11  Stacey Luciani
Stacey graduated in 2011 from Crosby High School in Crosby, TX, where she was a First Team All-District selectee in her junior and senior years.  Stacey was voted Newcomer of the Year in 2008.  Her goal this season is to win the National Championship and work hard to improve her outfielding and slapping skills.  Stacey is the daughter of Marci and Allen Luciani.  She has a brother, Michael.

 #12  Taylor O'Dell

Taylor O'Dell is a softball product from The Woodlands High School.  During her playing career she was a three time First All-District Academic student athlete.  As a sophomore, she received the Offensive Player of the Year award and as a junior she received the Most Improved Player of the Year award.  Taylor is looking to pursue a degree towads physical therapy while at Galveston College and her goals are to succeed in the classroom as well as on the field.  She is supported by her parents Tina Johnstone and Kevin O'Dell and siblings Zach Johnstone, Ben Johnstone, Justin Johnstone, and Jessica O'Dell. 

#13  Madison Cole
Madison graduated from Little Cypress Mauriceville High School in 2011, where she earned Academic All-District honors and was selected to the National Honor Society.  She has been awarded 2010 4A Offensive MVP, 2011 First Team Utility, and played on the Beaumont Enterprise Super Gold Team in her junior and senior years.  Madison is a two time First Team All-Orange Leader Softball Team selectee.  Her goal for this season is to improve as a player as well as a student and person. Madison is the daughter of Robert and Stacia Cole. She has one sister, Raven Cole.

#15  Katie Maldonado 

Kati Maldonado was a standout athlete for Burnet High School.  She particiapted in volleyball, basketball, and softball.  She was a First Team All-District and Offensive MVP for her volleyball team and First Team All-Region and Co-MVP player for her basketball team her junior and senior seasons.  During her softball career she received First Team All-District honors along with Defensive MVP her sophomore and junior years.  Kati is looking to pursue a degree in Kinesiology at Galveston College and her goal for the year is to be a part of a victorious and respected team while bettering herself and the team.  She is supported by her parents Johnnie and Jessica Maldonado, Jodi and Jill Meyer, and siblings Zach and Christian Maldonado.

#17 Danielle Calk 

Dannielle Calk was a First Team Academic All-District player during each year of play at Mansfield Timberview High School.  She also received team captain, team Co-MVP, and was aswarded First Team All-District her sophomore, junior and senior years.  Her focus of study will be on Criminal Justice while at Galveston College and aspires to work for the FBI.  Her goals are to help her team win and to imporve her softball skills.  She is supported by her parents Tommy and Dennise Calk and siblings Dannica and Tommy Calk, Jr.

#18  Marina Rios 

Marina Rios is a softball standout from Victoria East High School.  While a sophomore, she was a First Team All-District and All-Area Honorable Mention player.  During her junior season she received First Team All-South Central Region, First Team All-District, the Defensive Player of the Year award and First Team All-Academic.  Furthermore, as a senior she received the same honors from her junior season along with making Third Team All-State.  Marina is pursuing a degree towards Kinesiology and goal for the year is to excel both on and off the field.  She is supported by her parents Martin and Melba Rios and sibling Alyssa Rios.

#21 Jacquelyn Brown

Jacquelyn Brown was a standout athlete and student at Vidor High School.  She graduated with a 4.0 GPA and with Magna Cum Laude honors.  During her athletic career she participated in cross country, track, and basketball.  She received the schools Best Female Athlete award her senior year.  Jacquelyn was a Regional Qualifier and MVP for the track team during her junior and senior years.  She was also an All-District and All-Defensive MVP player her senior year in basketball.  Jacquelyn comes to Galveston College in pursuit of a Psychology degree and her goals are to lead the team in stolen bases and hit her first left handed homerun.  She is supported by her parents Christina Clubb, Mack Brown and her sibling Elizabeth Brown. 

#22  Tori Barrett

Tori Barrett was a First Team 4A All Mid-State, First Team All-District, and First Team MTSCA player for Mt. Juliet High School in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee.  She come to Galveston College in pursuit of a Special Education degree.  Her goals are to help her team to the NJCAA National Tournament.  She is supported by her parents Mickey and Kim Barrett and sibling Shelby Barrett.

 #24  Marissa Garza
Marissa Garza is a hometown product from Ball High School.  She was a standout athlete for the Ball High softball program and received the Ball High Athlete of the Year award her senior year.  During her junior year of play, she was a Second Team All-District player.  During her senior year she earned First Time All-District and All-County Player honors.  Marissa is in pursuit of a Kinesiology degree and her goals are to keep her GPA up and become a stronger athlete.  She is supported by her parents Israel and Laurie Garza and siblings Aaron and Israel Garza, Jr.
