Player Bios

#2 - Jaclyn Molenaar - Sophomore - La Porte, TX - OF/MI

Jaclyn Molenaar graduated from Clear Brook High School in 2014. Jaclyn is a transfer from Tyler Junior College. While at Tyler she hit a .333 batting average knocking in 27 runs with 64 hits and her on base percentage was .372. She also had a fielding percentage of 1.000 with 70 chances which was the best fielding percentage in Region 14. At the end of her freshman season Jaclyn was awarded First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-Region for Region 14. After she graduates from Galveston College in the Spring 2016 Jaclyn plans on continuing her softball career at a four year school aiming to get her Bachelor's degree in Exercise Sports Science. 

#3 - Mikaela Stegall - Freshman - Orange, TX - OF

Mikaela Stegall transferred from the University of Texas at Tyler to continue playing softball. She plays outfield and is a left handed slapper and hitter. Mikaela graduated high from Little Cypress-Mauriceville in Orange, Texas. She played on varsity all four years of high school and was a three year 24-4A All-District outfielder. Her senior year she was chosen to be on the Southeast Texas Coaches Association All Star Team and was also selected to play in the TGCA All Star game. Mikaela plans on graduating from Galveston College and continuing her education to major in Kinesiology, hoping to become a physical therapist. She is supported by her parents, Michael and Jill Shugart and Wayne Stegall as well as her siblings, Ty, Camyden, Slade and Maddox. 

#7 - Angel Villanueva - Freshman - Orange, TX - IF

Angel Villanueva is a 2015 graduate of Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School in Orange, Texas. She is also a product of No Mercy Softball and the 2015 USFA Southern National Champions. Angel was a three year varsity starter of her four years at LC-M, where she earned all-district honors all three years. In addition, her senior year she was selected to the All-Orange County, All Orange Leader and All KOGT teams. Angel plans to major in General Studies during her time at Galveston College where she hopes to transfer to a university to continue her softball career while pursuing a degree in Kinesiology. She is strongly supported by her family especially her mom Brandi, sister Jonee and baby brother Aidyn-Jace.

#8 - Courtney Fisher - Sophomore - Mount Belvieu, TX - C/1B 

Courtney Fisher graduated from Barbers Hill High School where they earned three Area Championships and as a senior advanced to the State Tournament. Courtney was honored to be 1st Team All-District, KHOU Athlete of the Week, a finalist for the Houston Chronicle Athlete of the Week and was also named to the All Baytown Super Sun Team. She was a member of the National Honor Society throughout high school and received an Academic All-State award. As a freshman at Galveston College, Courtney ranked high in the Region standings hitting a .394 batting average with 56 hits, 34 RBI's and leading the team in doubles with 17. After her outstanding freshman season she earned First Team All-Conference and All Region honors while also being named to the Dean's List for Galveston College. Courtney has decided to continue her softball collegiate career at The University of Texas at Tyler and aims to get her degree in criminal justice.

#9 - Maitlin Raycroft - Sophomore - Spring, TX - P

Maitlin Raycroft is a 2014 graduate from Klein High School. She is originally from Chicago, Illinois but currently lives in Spring, Texas with her family. Maitlin played on the Varsity softball team all four years of her high school career. During her freshman year at Galveston College she was awarded First Team All-Conference with a total of 171 strikeouts and 194 innings pitched and a final ERA of 2.37. After her performance in the spring she played in the Texas Junior College All-Star game at Mary-Hardin Baylor. Maitlin desires to be a physical therapist with the help of her parents, Suzan and Carl Raycroft along with her siblings Parker, Hogan and Charlie. 

#10 - Morgean Schultz - Freshman - New Waverly, TX - C/U

Morgean Schultz graduated from New Waverly High School as an honor graduate in 2015. she also played for Sudden Impact Gold 18U. Morgean was a four-year varsity softball player as well as a four-year varsity basketball player. She received All-District honors all four years and her senior year she was named All-District Defensive MVP. Morgean was a member of the National Honor Society throughout high school. She plans to major in General Studies during her time at Galveston College but plans to transfer to a university to pursue an engineering degree. Her goal for the year is to succeed on the field and in the classroom. She is supported by her parents Gary and Michelle Schultz, along with her sister McKayla Schultz.

 #11 - Kyla Lockley - Sophomore - Wharton, TX - 3B/SS

Kyla Lockley is a 2014 graduate of Boling High School and a former player for Texas Kaos Gold coached by Bert Emanuel. She received district honors each year of high school including Newcomer of the Year her freshman year, First Team All-District Catcher her sophomore year, First Team All-District Third Baseman her junior year and First Team All-District Offensive MVP her senior year. She was also a member of the varsity basketball and track team and received All-District Academic awards her junior and senior years. As a freshman at Galveston College last year she finished her season with a .450 batting average, which was the highest batting average in Region 14, .481 OBP, knocked in 37 RBI's and finished with 47 runs. After Kyla's outstanding season she received First Team All-Conference. Kyla will graduate with her General Studies degree in the Spring 2016 and will continue her education and career at a four-year university. 

#12 - Haleigh Madden - Freshman - Buda, TX - C/3B

Haleigh Madden is a 2015 graduate of Jack C. Hays High School where she was a four year member of the varsity softball team. She received All-District and All-Academic honors all four years and was noted Offensive MVP her senior year. Haleigh also played on the State Championship and State Finalist winning teams during her sophomore and junior years of high school. She was involved in the National Honor Society and Health Occupation Student of America while graduating in the top 5% of her class. Haleigh is getting her degree in General Studies and is pursuing a career as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

#13 - Kaylie Bush - Freshman - Timpson, TX - C/U

Kaylie Bush was born and raised in the heart of East Texas in the small town of Timpson. Kaylie grew up playing softball on various teams - often leading the teams to victory. Attending Timpson High School, Kaylie very quickly became the talk of the town by her freshman year of high school. She was very active throughout high school playing varsity basketball for two years, varsity volleyball for four years and varsity track for one year. Receiving honorable mention her first year playing varsity softball, she claimed her spot on the varsity team for the next three years. Her sophomore year she received Catcher of the Year. Kaylie's junior year and her senior year she was named Offensive MVP after she led the State of Texas in homeruns her junior year. Kaylie is currently majoring in Kinesiology and after she finishes her two years at Galveston College she plans on attending a four year university continuing her softball career. Kaylie is the daughter of Kyle and Carla Bush.

#15 - Brooke Ford - Sophomore - Katy, TX - 1B/3B

Brooke Ford graduated from Katy High School as an honor graduate in 2014. She was a member of the Texas Aces Gold Jacoby softball team where she was coached by Kelli Jacoby and Jill Voss. As a member of that team, they qualified for the USA Gold Nationals in Oklahoma City in the summer of 2014. For two years, Brooke also helped coach the Texas Aces 10U team fulfilling her passion for sharing her love and knowledge of the game with up and coming athletes.  Her freshman year at Galveston College she appeared in 23 games hitting a .310 batting average knocking in 10 runs with 18 hits. Brooke will graduate in Spring 2016 from Galveston College with an Associates Degree in General Studies. After graduation Brooke hopes to choose a career path where she can help others, like others have helped her throughout her life. Brooke is the daughter of  Debbie and Kelvin Russell of Katy, and Trent Ford of Tyler as well as her siblings, Baylee and Hayden.

#16 - Leah Johnson - Freshman - Victoria, BC-Canada - P

Leah Johnson is from Victoria-British Columbia, Canada. She graduated from Lambrick Park Secondary where she was a three year member of the Diamond for Excellence Softball Academy. She played for the Victoria Devils coached by Ricky Vitale, Joey Van De Voorde and Russ Fanucchi. Leah is pursuing an Associates Degree in General Studies with the love and support of her mother Nelly and her father Geoff.

#17 -  Brianna Nunn - Freshman - Missouri City, TX - OF/U

Brianna Nunn is a 2015 graduate from Ridge Point High School where she played four years of Varsity softball. Her freshman and sophomore years she received Second Team All-District, and her junior and senior years she received First Team All-District. Brianna will be pursuing a degree at Galveston College in General Studies. Her goal is to get her Bachelor's degree in Education so she can work with special needs children. She is supported by her loving parents Carole and Robert Nunn as well as her older brother Garin Nunn.

#20 - Amaris Ramirez - Freshman - Katy, TX - OF

Amaris Ramirez is a 2015 graduate from Mayde Creek High School. She played on the Varsity softball team all four years of her high school career. She received Honorable Mention her senior year. Amaris desires to be a dental hygienist one day and wants to continue to succeed on the field and in the classroom. Amaris is strongly supported by her parents Ernie and Becky Ramirez as well as her siblings Lori, Erica and Marissa.

#22 - Kara Davis - Freshman - Kyle, TX - P

Kara Davis is a 2015 graduate from Jack C. Hays High School. In her sophomore year of high school Kara was a part of the 4A State Championship team. She later helped get her team to the State Tournament again as a 5A school where they placed third her junior year. Kara played varsity softball for four consecutive years as well as being a member of the 97' Groove softball program. Her goal is to succeed in the classroom as well as on the field and to pursue a degree in General Studies while at Galveston College.

#23 - Mariah Garcia - Sophomore - Austin, TX - SS/3B
Mariah Garcia graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School and also played for the Texas Bombers Gold 18U. Mariah was a four year varsity softball player and a three year varsity basketball player. She was the 2010-2011 Newcomer of the Year and the 2012-2013 All District 15-5A honoree.  Mariah was also named the 2013-2014 All District short stop and 2013-2014 MVP for the Austin High School softball team. During her freshman season at Galveston College Mariah hit an outstanding .329 batting average with 39 RBI's, 7 HR (which lead the team) and collected 50 hits throughout the 2015 Spring Season. Mariah was chosen First Team All-Conference as well as First Team All-Region for Region 14. Mariah has committed to the University of Houston to continue her collegiate career aiming to get her degree in Sociology.
