Distance Learning: A Guide for Students Distance Education Orientation

Many distance learning instructors require students to attend course-specific orientation sessions. Please refer to the current course schedule for information about orientation for a specific class. In addition, the distance learning staff offers general distance learning orientations for all distance learners. These one-hour sessions provide students with tips for succeeding as online learners. The general orientation also covers the basic skills required to function within the Angel online classroom. Each participant will receive a copy of the handbook Distance Learning: A Guide for Students.

General orientations for the Fall 2014 semester are available on the Galveston College Angel Learning Management System Homepage .  Instructors are invited to contact Patricia Reyes if they wish to schedule a class orientation. Distance Learning students are advised to download and review the handbook Distance Learning: A Guide for Students for valuable information about succeeding as a distance education learner. Students may also contact Patricia Reyes for specific questions about distance learning and/or distance classes.
