Galveston College 09/2009 - Current Adjunct Instructor Write syllabi for English Composition 1301 and 1302. Teach the proper use of MLA guidelines. Stress the importance of critical thinking during the reading and writing processes. Guide students in understanding what is read and how to write an academic essay. Also taught Read 0301 where I taught students vocabulary in context skills as well as concepts surrounding the main idea inferences etc.
Alvin Community College 08/2008 - 08/2009 Adjunct Instructor Wrote syllabus for English Composition 1301 and 1302. Worked with students through WebCT as well as face-to-face. Taught students the importance of academic MLA writing style. Guided students on how to write a clear concise thesis statement and to incorporate that thesis into an academic essay. Also worked with students in the Writing Center as a tutor.
