Abe and Annie Seibel Wing Ribbon Cutting and Open House

Galveston College will welcome the general public at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11 for a ribbon cutting and Open House to dedicate the new Abe and Annie Seibel Wing of the Cheney Student Center located at 39th Street and Avenue Q. The event, hosted by the Galveston College Board of Regents, College faculty, students, and staff, will feature a glimpse of the facility, furniture, and accessories that make up the Seibel Student Center Wing, made possible by a 1.5 million dollar donation from the Abe and Annie Seibel Foundation.

The Seibel Wing addition provides 7,300 square feet of new space in a building to be known as the Abe and Annie Seibel Wing. The exterior design of the new building compliments existing facilities on campus. The interior will provide two multipurpose meeting rooms that may be configured into a single room, and seat 180 guests in a banquet style seating or 260 people in a theatre style arrangement. The facility also includes a conference room, restrooms, and storage rooms.

Architectural services were provided by Morris Architects, and construction services were managed by EMJ Construction.
