Galveston College recently kicked off the 2010-2011 Lecture Series with Professor John P. Galveston College Chef Paul Mendoza and his Culinary Arts class invite you to attend the Fall Scholarship Luncheon on Friday, November 19. An Apple Butternut Squash soup will be served followed by the main course of Homestyle meatloaf, rosemary macaroni & cheese and sautéed green beans. Pumpkin cheesecake will complete the meal. The lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Atrium of the Northen building on the Galveston College Campus at 4015 Avenue Q, Galveston, Texas. The price is $15.00 per person. Early registration for the 2011 Spring Semester begins on Monday, Nov. 15, 2010. Early registration will be held that week from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays through Fridays. For more information call the Counseling Center at (409) 944-1220.
Galveston College is offering an intermediate English as a Second Language course for non-native speakers of English that increases the participant’s conversational skills. Students must take ESL Beginning class before registering for this class. No textbook is required. Tuition is $65. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. from Nov. 9 through Dec. 14, 2010.
Galveston College is offering a Mystery Shopping course. Mystery Shopping is a great way to add extra income to your household without disrupting your daily routine. In this class you will learn about the world of Mystery Shopping and how to find the perfect shopping assignment. Tuition is $40. Galveston College is offering a watercolor class for all levels using various techniques for the adult student. Color theory will be stressed as well as style.
