Artistic Legacies Exhibition Runs Through March 27th
The Galveston College Art Gallery located on the third floor of the Fine Arts building at 4015 Avenue R is hosting the “Artistic Legacies” art and pottery exhibition through March 27th. The exhibition features the art and pottery of Andy Iventosch, Carl Block and Max Butler. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Admission is free to the public.
Whitecaps Take on Hill
The Galveston College Whitecaps softball team will host the Hill College Rebels on Monday, March 2nd at the airport softball field at 2:00 p.m. The Whitecaps are currently ranked 19th in the nation for community college/junior college softball. The Whitecaps record is six wins and five losses.
Galveston College will close for the Spring Break holidays at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2009 and remain closed through Sunday, March 22, 2008. College offices will reopen on Monday, March 23 at 8:00 a.m.
Dog Obedience – Basics
The dog obedience course includes an overview of basic obedience (on lead), basic obedience commands, canine psychology, socialization and solving behavior problems. The class will offer an individual approach to each dog/owner partnership, allowing participation of puppies (12 weeks or older) to dogs of any age. Dogs must have all of their vaccinations and the vaccination record is required the first day of class. Only one dog per student is allowed. Dogs will not attend the first day of class. Enrollment is limited to 8 dogs per class. This course will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays beginning May 13th and will run through May 29th from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. This is a nine hour class and requires no textbook.
