Emergency Medical Technician Recertification (EMSP 1030)
Theory and skills necessary to meet national and state requirements for re-certification. Emphasis is on Department of Transportation Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic guidelines. Instruction is in all applicable skills, attitudes and behavior consistent with the ethics and professionalism expected of the EMT - Basic. Textbook required. Classes are Monday and Wednesday, Feb 2-Mar 11, 3:00-7:00 pm. Tuition is $265.
Emergency Medical Services - Instructor Development (EMSP 2049)
This advanced course provides teaching methodologies for instructors and coordinators of emergency medical services. Skill development must meet current requirements of the certifying agency. Instruction covers current principles of instruction in adult education; preparation and lesson presentation/demonstration on emergency medical topics and ethics and professionalism expected of an emergency medical services instructor. Prerequisite: Certification as an EMT Basic. Textbook required. Classes are on Fridays, Jan 30-May 8, 8:30 am-12:00 pm. Tuition is $225.
Critical Care Paramedic (EMSP 2058)
This advanced training course prepares healthcare personnel to function as members of a critical care transport team. Instruction covers proficiency in the special needs of critical patients during transport; familiarity with the purpose and mechanisms of hospital procedures and equipment; and development of skills to maintain the stability of hospital equipment and procedures during transport. Prerequisite: Certification as a Paramedic. Textbook required. Classes are on Friday, Jan 30-May 15, 12:00-4:30 pm. Tuition is $355
