Galveston College and Bar Association Offer SBA Loan Seminar

Galveston College and the Galveston Bar Association will sponsor a seminar on “Understanding Small Business Administration Loans”.  The seminar is scheduled for Wednesday, December 10, 2008 from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Cyber Café of the Galveston College Learning Resources Center.  The seminar is provided without cost but please call (409)944-1344 to make a reservation.

Pharmacy Tech program Starts Spring 2009

Pharmacy Technicians provide personal and professional support in the field of healthcare. They are an important contributor in the collaborative effort of doctors, nurses, and other support staff for the care of patients. A Pharmacy Technician’s duties are to assist the pharmacist which may include filling prescriptions, dispensing medications, inventory control, collecting patient information, compounding medications, calculating doses, and communicating with health care providers.

This two semester program will start a new class each spring and fall semester. Galveston College is helping to meet the needs of students by offering financial aid and child care to those who qualify. Making a two semester commitment will build a foundation in science and provide many job opportunities. For more information call (409) 944-1292.
