Galveston College’s surgical technology class was busy collecting stuffed animals for children of the Shriner’s Burn Center in celebration of September 21st through27th as National surgical Technology week. The Galveston College Nursing department is accepting applications for the 2009 Associate Degree in Nursing and Vocational Nursing programs. Nurses are in demand worldwide and a nursing career offers limitless opportunities and financial rewards. The Galveston College Associate Degree program is a two year curriculum that prepares students for a nursing career and to sit for the exam to be certified as a registered nurse. The Vocational Nursing program is a one year curriculum. Students desiring more information should call the Nursing Advisor at (409)944-1379.
The Galveston College Learning Resource Center will have extended hours for the library and testing center from October 13 through November 2, 2008. Monday through Friday hours are 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday hours are 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday hours are 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Hours on Halloween weekend will be slightly shorter with October 31 hours being 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Saturday, November 1 hours are 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Sunday November 2 hours are 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Full access to neck and shoulders/upper back required. This is a seven hour course and cost $140. Attachments of the inner thigh muscles will be addressed and full draping will be enforced. This is a seven hour course and cost $140.
