Galveston College President Dr. Myles Shelton congratulates Kristen Meador for receiving the Lovelace, McDaniel, Nielson Music Scholarship for the next college year.  Meador is a general studies student who is a graduate of Ball High School.

Fall Registration Underway at Galveston College

Fall registration is underway at Galveston College for credit and continuing education courses during the 2008 fall semester.  Open registration will continue August 19th through 21st from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on August 22nd.  A special Saturday registration will be held on August 23th from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  Classes start August 25th.

Dual Credit Tuition Assistance

Dual Credit tuition assistance is available to Galveston high school juniors and seniors on the recommendation of their high school counselors, principals or Galveston College Upward Bound staff.  Students should express a need for financial assistance and be capable of success in dual credit classes.

Prospective students of the Galveston College Dual Credit Tuition Assistance program must fill out an application have it signed by the counselor, principal or College staff and turn the application in to the Galveston College Foundation Offices at 4015 Avenue Q on the second floor of Moody Hall.

Upon approval, eligible students will be able to enroll in one course per semester or session with tuition and fees paid by the Foundation.  For more information please call (409)944-1302

Around the World with Gourmet Chicken

This class will have students creating five gourmet international chicken dishes.  Recipes include curry chicken (India), chicken with Catalan picada (Spain), spicy glazed chipotle chicken (Mexico), chicken tetrazzini (Italy), and Thai grilled chicken.  Taste what you make!  Just $50 for a four hour class to be held on Saturday, October 11, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  No textbook is required.
