Galveston College Radiation Therapy Instructor Hubert Callahan congratulates student Jacque Denison on winning third place for her manuscript “The Advances in the Treatment of Breast Cancer” at the recent Texas Society of Radiological Technologists conference.  The manuscript writing completion is offered every year to students in the thirty eight radiography programs and four radiation therapy programs in Texas.

Summer Session One Starts Today

Galveston College Summer Session I begins today.  Late registration will be held today and tomorrow from 7:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.  Summer Session I classes being offered include Accounting, Anthropology, Art, Associate Degree Nursing, Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Nutrition and Diet Therapy, Mammography, Business Law, Chemistry, Computer Science, Computers in Health Care, Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Drama, Economics, Emergency Medical Services, English, German, Government, History, Humanities, Math, College Algebra, Medical Terminology, Office Administration, Philosophy, Physical Education,  Physics, Psychology, Radiation Therapy, Radiography, Reading, Respiratory Care, Sociology, Speech, Surgical Technology and Vocational Nursing.

Bank Teller Course

The Galveston College Bank Teller course will help students develop the necessary skilss to operate a teller window. The course includes customer service, bank security, practical knowledge of teller equipment and bank regulations. The course begins June 9 and is offered from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through July 2. The cost is $110. Call 944-1344 for more information.

Star Gazing for Beginners

It is always thrilling to see real planets, moons and stars in the nighttime sky. In this class we will explore the heavens, learn about the constellations and actually view these objects through various telescopes. The first class of two hours is followed by a four hour evening observation class under the stars. The course begins Tuesday, June 3 and is offered from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The cost is $30.
