The Galveston College Developmental Education department recently hosted the first annual conference for the Gulf Coast Consortium of Developmental Educators. Seventeen community colleges and universities participated. Galveston College is offering a Mini-Semester May 12th through May 29th that allows students to earn college credit in just three weeks. Most of the classes are morning classes Monday through Thursday for the three week period. Courses are available in Art Appreciation, Health Assessment, Introduction to Nursing, Microcomputer Applications, English Composition, Computers in Healthcare, Medical Terminology, Introduction to Humanities, Music Appreciation, Introduction to Social and Political Philosophy, College Physics, Introduction to Keyboarding and Social Problems.
Students must complete late registration by 7:00 p.m. on May 12, 2008 in person only. New, previously enrolled, or transfer students need to contact the Office of Admission prior to registering for classes. For more information call 409-944-1220 or visit online at www.gc.edu.
Open registration for the 2008 summer sessions at Galveston College is May 27th through May 29th from 7:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Classes begin on Monday, June 2, 2008.
