Career Fair

Galveston College in partnership with the Worksource and the Rotary Club of Galveston will be hosting a career fair scheduled for Thursday, April 10, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Hermes Fitness Center.  This is the perfect opportunity to meet potential employers, fill out applications and provide them with resumes.  Some of the organizations attending are City of Galveston HR Department, Department of Assistive/Rehabilitative Services, Devereux Texas Treatment Network, Edgewater Retirement Community, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Eye Masters, Houston Police Department Recruiting Unit, Kelly Services, Manthra Health Care Staffing, Rainforest Café, Schlitterbahn Waterpark-Galveston Island, Sherwin-Williams Coastal District Office, Sodexho, Target, Texas Army National Guard, Texas Gas Service, Texas Orthopedic Hospital, The San Luis Resort, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Transitional Learning Center, U.S. Marines Recruiting Office, U.S. Navy

Early Registration for Summer, April 21

Galveston College begins early registration for the Summer I and II sessions on Monday, April 21, 2008.  Registration hours are 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday,  and 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.  The first summer session classes begin on Monday, June 2, 2008. University bound students who plan to register for summer courses at Galveston College should apply now.

Commencement 2008 Set for May 13 at Moody Gardens

 The Galveston College 2008 commencement will be held at Moody Gardens Convention Center beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2008. 

Universal Access Go For It Days Set

Galveston College will host all Ball High School Seniors on April 29th, 30th and May 1st in an annual effort to acquaint the pending graduates about the local community college’s free tuition program. The Universal Access “Go For It” days are sponsored by the Galveston College Foundation. Since the fall of 2001 over 2,000 students have attended Galveston College for academic transfer and workforce classes funded by a community based 3.1 million dollar endowment and Pell grant federal funds. Counselors and college staff will be on hand during the “Go For It” days to provide Compass testing, financial aid information and class schedules. For more information call Joe Huff at 944-1302.
