The Abe and Annie Seibel Foundation was recently recognized with a lighthouse presentation at the Galveston College Foundation donor/student breakfast for its contribution of 1.5 million dollars for student center new construction. Galveston College has posted its 2008 Spring Semester Schedule and Continuing Education guide online at www.gc.edu. Early registration for the 2008 Spring semester begins November 26, 2007. Spring semester classes start January 14, 2008.
Galveston College will close at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21st in celebration of the Thanksgiving holidays. The College will reopen on Monday, November 26th at 8:00 a.m.
All United States citizens who are residents of Galveston Community College District who have attained the age of 65 years (65 and older) are eligible to receive a 100% tuition discount for credit courses, and a 50% discount for associated fees for credit courses (exceptions include individual music instruction, liability insurance, health fees, and testing fees). Tuition/fee adjustment requests for credit courses must be made at the time of registration.
For Continuing Education courses, all United States citizens who are residents of Galveston Community College district who have attained the age of 65 years (65 and older) are eligible to receive a 50% tuition discount for non-credit continuing education courses. Learn how to stage your home for resale to obtain the highest sales price. You will learn to evaluate your home, understand what buyers are looking for and how to make your home more appealing. This is not a TREC required class and no text book is required. Cost of the three hour class is $30. The Galveston College Island Potters Guild will have their annual Holiday Show and Sale in the Atrium of GC on December 5-6 from 10am to 6pm. The ceramic sculpture and pottery is created by GC Art students in the ceramics classes. A percentage of the student’s sales will help sponsor three visiting artists who are slated to exhibit their original ceramic sculpture next Spring.
