Galveston College Open Registration Begins Today

Open registration for the 2007 Fall semester begins today at Galveston College.  The Counseling Center will be open for business from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday.  Counseling is available Friday, August 24th from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  Late registration will be held Monday, August 27th and Tuesday August 28th from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.  Classes start August 27th.

Courses of Study

Galveston College offers students the opportunity to receive an Associate of Arts degree or an Associate of Applied Science degree or certificate.

Continuing Education provides career training programs that give students the skills and knowledge needed by local businesses and industry.  The continuing Education staff is available to discuss training opportunities such as:  Alternative Teacher Certification Training, Administrative Professional, Bank Teller, Basic Microsoft Office, Bookkeeper/Accounting Clerk, Certified Medication Aide, Certified Nurse Assistant, Dental Assisting, Emergency Medical Technician, EKG Technician, Fast-Track Office Assistant, Medical Records Coding Specialist, Pharmacy Technician, Security Guard, Welding.

Distance Learning

Distance Learning provides high quality, flexible educational programs and support services which are academically, geographically, and financially accessible and that meet your personal, vocational, and professional goals of preparing for a first career, a career change, career advancement or personal enrichment.

Distance Learning brings regular college instruction to those who cannot attend classes on campus.  Currently, Galveston College offers nearly all core curriculum courses in an online format, with more online courses added each semester.  In addition, online courses are available within most of our workforce-related programs, including Nursing, Allied Health, Computer Science, Office Technology, and Hospitality.
