This course includes legal limitations on use of handguns, powers and authority of private security officers, familiarity with legislation, note taking, report writing, range firing and procedure, handgun safety and maintenance, and required range qualification. Student must pass a written examination and demonstrate proficiency with firearms. Cost of textbooks and firearm training are included in the tuition. Tuition cost is $165. Introduction to the Internet includes E-mail, home page, and how to perform basic research to address your needs. E-mail is a great way to keep in touch with everyone. Tuition cost is $60. Classes begin April 10, 2007 and are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. For more information contact Continuing Education at 409-944-1364.
This course includes an overview of basic obedience (on lead), basic obedience commands, canine psychology, socialization, and solving behavior problems. The class will offer an individual approach to each dog/owner partnership, allowing participation of puppies (12 weeks+) to dogs of any age. Dogs must have all of their vaccinations and the vaccination record is required the first day of class. Only one dog per student is allowed. Dogs will not attend the first day of class. Cost is $35. Galveston College will be closed beginning March 12 through March 17 for Spring Break. The College will reopen on Monday, March 19, 2007.
