Galveston College Offers $50,000 in Named Scholarships for 2007- 2008

In addition to Pell Grants, Texas Grants, and the Galveston College Foundation Universal Access Program, Galveston College offers over $50,000 in named scholarships.  Most of the scholarships listed may be applied for by contacting the Galveston College Financial Aid Office on the first floor of Moody Hall. Most of the awards are made for the 2007-2008 year covering the fall and spring semesters.

Dog Obedience – Basic

This course includes an overview of basic obedience (on lead), basic obedience commands, canine psychology, socialization, and solving behavior problems. The class will offer an individual approach to each dog/owner partnership, allowing participation of puppies (12 weeks+) to dogs of any age. Dogs must have all of their vaccinations and the vaccination record is required the first day of class. Only one dog per student is allowed. Dogs will not attend the first day of class. Classes begin March 3, 2007 and are held on Saturdays, from 9:00 am until 10:30 am at Galveston College. For more information contact Continuing Education at 409-944-1364.

How to Buy and Use a Digital Camera

This course is a non-darkroom course that explores the fundamentals and use of digital cameras. Students will learn the most common tasks, important tips and exciting features that are found in digital cameras. Students will also learn how to download pictures, manipulate the images input text and learn about considerations and output options. No Textbook required. Cameras not provided. Classes begin March 23, 2007 and are held on Saturdays, from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm at Galveston College. For more information contact Continuing Education at 409-944-1364.
