QUALIFICATIONS:

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics or a related field from an accredited university,
  • Two years full-time (or equivalent) teaching experience in Mathematics or related field,
  • Experience with computer-assisted instruction,
  • Experience working with students from a diverse range of backgrounds, abilities and ages,
  • Strong communication and organizational skills,
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and commitment to academically underprepared students,
  • Candidates must be dedicated to excellence in teaching and committed to high academic and professional standards.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree with 18 graduate hours in Mathematics,
  • Teaching at the Community College level,
  • Experience in a lab environment,
  • Experience teaching in a centralized Developmental Education Program.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Full time nine-month tenure track position reporting to the Program Coordinator and indirectly to the Division Director and the Vice President of Instruction.

 

Responsibilities include teaching Developmental Mathematics courses, conducting examinations and grading of student work, academic advising, serving on College committees, attending all mandatory meetings, actively participating in campus activities and assuming other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

 

SALARY:

Salary commensurate with education and experience. Nine month contract. Excellent benefits. Staff development and educational opportunities are available.
