The Galveston College Community Chorale recently held its annual Christmas concert at Moody Methodist Church in Galveston. The performance consisted of familiar Christmas favorites.

Spring Semester General Registration Continues Today

General Registration continues today through January 15. General Registration hours are 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 13 through Wednesday, January 15. Late Registration will be held January 16, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and January 17, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Spring semester classes begin January 21, 2014. The Spring Credit Class Schedule is now available online and in printed versions throughout the campus. For more information, call 409-944-1220.

Galveston College Community Chorale

Imagine…a world in which every city, town, and neighborhood had a community choir, one where the music of many cultures and faiths was celebrated. Imagine… a non-auditioned choir in your community where all were welcome. Galveston College has such a choir. The Chorale meets every Monday evening at 7 p.m. from January 27 to May 12 and is open to adults of any age. The cost is $35. Certified Nurse Aide Applications for 2014 Now Available

This course prepares for entry level nursing assistants to achieve a level of knowledge, skills, and abilities essential to provide basic care to residents of long-term care facilities.  The course fee of $699 includes Healthcare Providers CPR. Current immunizations and background check are required.  State certification exam fee of $95, textbook, scrubs, other equipment are paid by student separately. High School Diploma or GED is required. Courses start February 17, 2014; application and required documentation due before February 3. Pick up your application at Continuing Education office (M-140) at Galveston College, 4015 Avenue Q, between 8 am and 5 pm weekdays.  Start your medical career with Galveston College.

Zumba

Zumba fitness is the only Latin-inspired, dance-fitness program that blends red-hot international music, created by Grammy Award winning producers, and contagious steps to form a “fitness party” that is downright addictive! Instructor Milca Intipampa Cabello’s energy and fun-loving personality will have you moving to the music in no time! You’ll be having such a good time it won’t even feel like exercise! Senior Fitness and Exercise

If you are over 65 (or not!) and enjoy a regular exercise routine, take this class in the Galveston College weight and exercise room. Instruction on use of equipment will be given by the instructor on the first day of class. Classes start January 22, call 409-944-1344 to register.

Other fitness classes offered in Spring of 2014, starting the week of January 21, are Aerobics: Cross-Training, Introduction to Golf, Strength and Conditioning, and Weight Training.
