Register Now For Fall Second Start Classes
Registration for the Fall Second Start term is now in progress. Registration hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays, and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.
Fall Second Start classes begin Monday, October 7 and end Wednesday, December 12. Courses offered include Integrated Reading and Writing III, Basic Mathematics, Introductory Algebra, Composition I, World Literature I, Environmental Science II (Hybrid), Federal Government, United States History I, Introduction to Philosophy, Introduction to Sociology/Political Philosophy, General Psychology, and Public Speaking (Hybrid). USA Offshore Partners With Galveston College
Galveston College, in partnership with USA Offshore, will be offering a two week eighty-hour fast-track course, "Introduction to Offshore Drilling Practices". This course is designed to offer the general public and returning military personnel a means to gain the basic knowledge necessary to seek employment in the Oil and Gas industry. Whether you want to learn cake decorating just for fun or your dream is to have a cake decorating business, you will be delighted with this class. Your instructor decorates cakes professionally and loves working with students just learning the art, as well as those who wish to add to their expertise. You‘ll learn the fundamentals of cake decorating, including baking a great cake and making and using various kinds of icings. Learn how to make fancy borders, specialty designs, coloring and cake writing techniques. Students must provide their own cakes and supplies for the class. Supplies and costs will vary depending on your preferences and will be discussed at the first class. Senior discount available.

Once Upon a Thyme
You can add flavor and zing to your foods with spices and herbs without adding calories! But many people are hesitant, not sure what to do with certain spices and what foods pair best with them. In this two evening course, expand and explore your palate and your knowledge as Chef Paul Mendoza explains simple ways to use common and exotic spices in your meals, as well as how to store and get the most from your spices. He‘ll also suggest a small range of spices you can keep in your pantry for regular use to add instant flavor to your food. A few dishes using the spices will be cooked up for sampling, and recipe packets provided for you to take home and try for yourself.
One week, 2 sessions, 4 hours of instruction; Monday and Wednesday evening 6-8 pm, $59; September 16 and 18.
