Galveston College offers an advantage for dual credit classes to local high school students. Through the Gulf Coast PASS program college staff works to ease the transition between high school and college by increasing college readiness and decreasing the need for developmental education courses. Part of this effort promotes the early admissions and dual credit programs.

Through an articulation agreement between Galveston College and the Galveston Independent School District dual credit courses in English 1301 and English 1302 along with History 1301 and History 1302 has tuition waived for Ball High School students wanting to take these college classes. Other courses offered at discounted tuition rates are British Literature, Environmental Science, Calculus, Chemistry and Western Civilization.

O’Connell High School students can take advantage of a grant that funds dual credit courses Biology 1406 and Psychology 2301 offered by Galveston College. For more information on dual credit options and early admissions call Vanessa Matthews at 409-944-1343.
