Galveston College will hold its forty-sixth annual commencement on Friday, May 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Galveston Island Convention Center located at 5200 Seawall Blvd. This commencement boasts a record 505 candidates for graduation who are earning associate degrees and certificates. In 2012, Galveston College had a record number of candidates for graduation with 427. Galveston College’s new record comes at a time when college faculty and staff are beginning plans for their 50th anniversary year in 2016-2017.
The Galveston College 2013 summer and fall credit class schedule is now available in print and on our website at www.gc.edu.
Galveston College has a diverse of class offerings in the May mini semester beginning on May 13 and ending May 30. Classes include Introduction Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, English Composition II, Federal Government, United States History, Music Appreciation, Introduction to Ethics, Introduction to Physical Fitness & Sport and Personal and Community Health. Early registration continues for the May mini semester, summer sessions I and II and the 2013 Fall Semester. Early registration hours through May 10th are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.
Starting May 13, early registration will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. Mini semester classes begin May 13, summer session I classes begin June 10, summer session II classes start July 15 and fall semester classes start August 26.
