Winter Mini Semester Begins Today

The Winter Mini semester begins today and ends January 11, 2013. Late registration for the Winter Mini semester will be held today from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Winter Mini semester classes are offered online and include: Introduction to Computing, Introductory Algebra, English Composition I and II, Texas Government, Introduction to Humanities I, College Algebra (Hybrid). The final exam for the College Algebra (hybrid) course must be taken with the instructor from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. on January 11, 2013. Additional classes include Introduction to Ethics and College Physics I (Hybrid), which includes a face-to-face lab that will meet during the final week of: January 7 to 10.

Spring Semester 2013 Registration

General Registration for the Spring Semester runs from January 7 to January 12. General Registration hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Spring semester classes begin January 14, 2013. The Spring Credit Class Schedule and the Continuing Education Guide is now available online and in printed versions throughout the campus. For more information, call 409-944-1220.

Conversational Spanish I Begins January 22nd

This beginning Spanish series is designed to develop skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing to the point where a student can communicate on a basic level with a sympathetic native speaker. Students will acquire basic vocabulary and structures of Spanish and develop an understanding of its cultural context. Note: this level is not recommended for those with a native Spanish speaking background. Textbook required. The cost is $175. Classes will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays Jan. 22 – March 7, 2013.

Conversational Spanish II Begins March 19th

Being a better Spanish speaker can improve your social skills, marketability, and volunteer opportunities. Our part two of conversational Spanish will give you the advanced level of language skills to improve your personal life and career. The cost is $175. Classes will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays March 19 through May 2, 2013.

Leadership Galveston Spring 2013

Galveston College, in partnership with the Galveston Chamber of Commerce, has set dates for the new Leadership Galveston Spring 2013 class. Sessions will be held from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Fridays, January 25, February 8, February 22, March 8, March 22 and April 12. College Closed for Holidays

Galveston College will close at 5 p.m. on December 18, 2012 and reopen at 8 a.m. January 3, 2013. Galveston College will hold the Faculty and Staff General Assembly on Friday, January 4, 2013 and will be closed to the public on that day. Online Registration will be available during the time Galveston College is closed for the Holidays.
