The Galveston Island Potters Guild will hold their annual Holiday Sale on Wednesday December 5 in the Atrium of Galveston College from 10 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Members of the Guild and students of Galveston College Ceramics classes have produced an assortment of one-of-a-kind, handmade ceramic pieces that are perfect for the holiday gift ideas. Galveston College is located at 4015 Avenue Q on Galveston Island.

Register Now for the Winter Mini Classes

Early registration for the Winter Mini Semester is now in session at Galveston College. The Winter Mini semester begins December 17, 2012 and ends January 11, 2013.

Winter Mini classes are offered online and include Introduction to Computing, Introductory Algebra, English Composition I and II, Texas Government, Introduction to Humanities I, College Algebra (Hybrid). The final exam for the College Algebra (hybrid) course must be taken with the instructor on January 11, 2013 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Additional classes include Introduction to Ethics and College Physics I (Hybrid), which includes a face-to-face lab that will meet during the final week of January 7 to January 10.

Early registration hours are from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays. Payment for Early Registration must be made by noon on December 14, 2012 in order to avoid being dropped for non-payment. Students must contact their instructors by the first class day. Spring Semester 2013 Registration

Early registration for the 2013 Spring Semester continues until December 14. Student Services office hours during Early Registration are from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays. Payment for Early Registration must be made by noon on December 14, 2012 in order to avoid being dropped for non-payment.

General Registration runs from January 7 through January 12. General Registration hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Spring semester classes begin January 14, 2013. The Spring Credit Class Schedule and the Continuing Education Guide is now available online and in printed versions throughout the campus. Galveston College Chorale Christmas Concert – December 9

The Galveston College Community Chorale will hold its annual Christmas concert at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 9 at Moody Methodist Church. The Chorale will be performing a major work - "Gloria" by Vivaldi plus other Christmas favorites. Guest artist Dr. Joanna Whitsett, organist at Moody Methodist, will be providing harp accompaniment to the chorale on one piece, as well as perform two solo pieces.

Galveston College Leadership Galveston Spring 2013

Galveston College, in partnership with the Galveston Chamber of Commerce, has set dates for the new Leadership Galveston Spring 2013. Sessions will be held from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Fridays, January 25, February 8, February 22, March 8, March 22 and April 12. Acceptance in the program is based upon potential leadership skills, involvement in community affairs and concern for the future of Galveston.  As civic, business and government leaders tackle current issues, a new generation of leadership is training to overcome the obstacles that face Galveston, and those that will arise in the coming years.  Leadership Galveston is a training ground, providing participants with the necessary skills to meet those challenges.
