Continuing Education recently hosted a luncheon to discuss nationally recognized industry certifications for Galveston-area businesses and Port of Galveston related industries. Galveston College will begin Fall Semester classes on August 27 with many Physical Education classes for students of all ages. Classes include Aerobics – Cross Training, Aerobics Running and Jogging, Introduction to Golf, Indoor Soccer, Yoga, and Weight Training.
Several Internet options are also available for the following courses: Introduction to Physical Fitness, Introduction to Kinesiology, Personal/Community Health, and Concepts of Physical Fitness.

The Galveston College Continuing Education and Professional Development Center is planning a meeting of the Galveston Welders Networking Group from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on August 14, 2012, in the Seibel Wing on the main campus. Come learn about: Welding educational opportunities, potential job opportunities, employers who are hiring welders, the future of welding in Galveston County, and the importance of networking with other welders.

General Registration for the 2012 Fall Semester begins on August 20 and continues through August 25, as follows: from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday; from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday; and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 25. Expand your artistic abilities and learn to draw. This fundamental course presents drawing through exploration and experimentation through a variety of drawing mediums and techniques. Supplies may be purchased at college bookstore. No textbook required. The cost: In-District $342; Out of District: $390. The class will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:20 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays August 27 through December 12. Lab will be held from 8:30 p.m. to 9:55 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Imagine a world in which every city, town, and neighborhood had a community choir, one where the music of many cultures and faiths is celebrated. Imagine a non-auditioned choir in your community where all are welcome. Galveston College has such a choir. The Community Choir meets every Monday evening and is open to adults of any age.
