General Registration for Galveston College’s first Summer Session will be held Tuesday, May 29 through Thursday, May 31 from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Summer Session I classes begin June 4. Late Registration for Summer I will be held Monday, June 4.
Early registration for the Summer II Session and Fall Semester is still in progress. Summer II Session classes begin July 11, and the Fall Semester begins August 27. Visit or call the Counseling Center at 409-944-1220 for additional information.
Galveston College Continuing Education is pleased to offer a variety of educational opportunities designed to build on children’s imagination, creativity and talent beginning June 4.
All of our camps utilize Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) concepts and 21st Century educational skills of Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Collaboration, Agility and Adaptability, Curiosity and Imagination.
Camps include Online Video Game Making, Vehicle Engineering, Elementary Engineering, Collision Cars, and Video Game Making II. Camps will be held in the mornings from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. or in the afternoons from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. during the weeks of June 4, June 18, June 25, and July 9, and July 16. Computer Fundamentals for Medical Billing provides basic instruction on computer applications specific to medical billing related software. The course teaches the concurrent development of office skills and computer knowledge. Classes will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Mondays from June 4 through August 13. A lab will held on Wednesdays. Project management isn’t just for construction engineers and military logistics experts anymore. Today, in addition to the regular duties of your job, you are often expected to take on extra assignments - and to get that additional job done well, under budget, and on time. This workshop is not intended to take you from a supervisory or administrative position to that of a project manager. However, this one-day workshop will familiarize you with the most common terms and the most current thinking about projects. Handouts will be provided. Becoming TABC certified is an important step to ensure that you are responsibly serving and selling alcohol. Your employer may also require that you are TABC certified before you begin work. Galveston College is offering this course to increase job opportunities in the hospitality industry. A TABC certificate will be awarded upon the completion of the class, and a passing score on the exam. The exam is also available in Spanish. Prerequisite: Must be 18 years old. If conversational Spanish is your goal, we have the solution! Our Conversational Spanish course will boost your confidence, and have you ready to proceed with more advanced courses. If you are going on a trip, and want to feel more confident, this is the class for you! The class will meet from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 12 through July 12. Introduction to Computers provides an overview of personal computer systems, and includes an introduction to computer hardware, software, and the everyday use of computers.
