Galveston College’s May Mini-Semester classes start today (Monday, May 14th). Late registration and schedule changes may be made from 7:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. today as well. Mini-semester classes run for three weeks, ending on May 31, 2012.
In the May Mini-Semester, internet courses include College Reading, Intermediate Algebra, Composition II, Federal Government, United States History I, Introduction to Ethics and Personal/Community Health. Classroom instruction is available in the courses of College Algebra, Music Appreciation, General Psychology, and Social Problems.
Galveston College Early Registration continues for the 2012 Summer I and Summer II sessions, as well as for the 2012 Fall semester. Early registration hours run from 7:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Summer Session I classes begin June 4, Summer II Session classes begin July 11, and the Fall Semester begins August 27. For more information, call the Counseling Center at 409-944-1220.
Galveston College begins summer office hours on Monday, May 14. College offices will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday each week. Therefore, the campus will be closed on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Regular office hours resume Monday, August 13, 2012.
Galveston College is offering a class that will explore the use of acrylics and oils through exciting free-style applications of fast-paced techniques geared toward rendering bright, quick, and meaningful impressions. The class is perfect for beginners and even for advanced painters who want to loosen up and paint! The class will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from June 12 through July 12, 2012. No textbook is required for this course. The cost is $90. Galveston College’s Belly Dancing class promotes a positive body image in a non-judgmental and supportive atmosphere. It is also considered a workout, because belly dancing incorporates both cardiovascular and aerobic exercise, therefore the class offers a unique and fun way to get in shape! Galveston College Continuing Education is pleased to offer a variety of educational opportunities designed to build on children’s imagination, creativity and talent beginning June 4.
All of our camps utilize Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) concepts and 21st Century educational skills of Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Collaboration, Agility and Adaptability, Curiosity and Imagination.
Camps include Online Video Game Making, Vehicle Engineering, Elementary Engineering, Collision Cars, and Video Game Making II. Camps will be held in the mornings from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. or in the afternoons from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. during the weeks of June 4, June 18, June 25 and July 9 and July 16.
