Galveston College Cohosts EducationFest 2012 On April 21

Galveston College, the City of Galveston Parks & Recreation Department, and the City of Galveston Families, Children & Youth Board will host EducationFEST 2012: Promoting Educational Achievements & Opportunities from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 21at the McGuire Dent Recreation Center located at 28th St. and Seawall Blvd. The event offers many displays of educational schools, colleges and universities and a variety of crafts, entertainment venues and promotional centers. Early Registration for Summer and Fall 2012 Sessions Begins April 16

Galveston College Early Registration for the 2012 Mini semester, Summer I and Summer II sessions, as well as the 2012 Fall semester begins April 16. Early registration hours are 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays. Mini semester classes begin May 14, Summer session I classes begin June 4, Summer II session classes begin July 11, and the Fall semester begins August 27.  For more information call the Counseling Center at 409-944-1220.

Galveston College Fine Art Gallery Hosts Ball High Student Art Exhibit

Galveston College Department of Visual and Performing Arts is hosting an Exhibition of Artwork by Ball High School Art students in the Fine Arts Gallery on the third floor of the Fine Arts building at 4015 Avenue Q. Painting, sculptures, ceramics and drawings will be on view through April 19. The Galveston College Art Gallery is open from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. The Galveston College Foundation will provide 111 scholarships for the 2012 Fall and 2013 Spring Semesters totaling over $90,000. The deadline for applications is Monday April 16, 2012.
