General Registration will be held January 9 - 13, 2012 . Monday through Thursday registration times are from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. and registration continues on Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Classes begin Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Late Registration will be held from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. on January 17 and January 18. The Credit Class schedule and Continuing Education Guide are now available online at www.gc.edu and the printed schedules are throughout the 4015 Avenue Q campus. Galveston College is offering a Nurse Aide for Health Care course. This course prepares entry level nursing assistants to achieve a level of knowledge, skills, and abilities essential to provide basic care to residents of long-term care facilities. The course fee includes Healthcare Providers CPR. Textbook and Scrubs are required. State certification exam fee must be paid separately. High School Diploma or GED is required. The Clinical Site is Manor Care Health Services, 750 Texas Avenue, Webster, TX 77598, Students MUST wear burgundy scrubs to clinical. Clinicals may be during the day and/or on weekends. The cost is $575. Classes will be held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays, from January 23 to March 5.
If conversational Spanish is your goal, we have the solution! Our conversational Spanish will boost your confidence, and have you ready to proceed with more advanced courses. If you are going on a trip and want to feel more confident, this is the class for you! The cost is $200. Classes will be held from 5:30 pm-7:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays January 17 through March 8.
Galveston College, in partnership with the Galveston Chamber of Commerce, has set dates for the new Leadership Galveston 2012. Sessions will be held from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Fridays, January 27, February 24, March 23, April 27, May 25, June 22, July 27, and August 24. The cost is $500 per registrant.
